FRAMO TRANSREC SKIMMER SYSTEMS
The FRAMO TRANSREC represents the most complete solution for offshore
oil recovery. With its outstanding performance and multipurpose
design, it is the ultimate tool for oil recovery.
The design operates as an oil recovery system as well as a tool
for transfer of oil/water emulsion, emergency offloading and beach/coastline
cleaning.
The FRAMO TRANSREC system has yielded the highest recovery results
with the best efficiency of any design tested so far offshore
in the North Sea.
During the Piper/Claymore spill in the U.K. North Sea during
December 1986, the TRANSREC accordingly recovered emulsion with
a viscosity exceeding 65000 Cst.
Clean up operations carried out by NOFO at the coast of Norway
confirmed that the system is able to handle emulsions with viscosities
up to 170000 Cst.
The standard unit can be fitted with different recovery cassette
devices to ensure optimal operation in varying recovery operations.
The recovery device consists of a free-flow type skimmer, with
disc and belt cassettes as auxilliary equipment.
The FRAMO TRANSREC system has been designed and manufactured
in accordance with Det norske Veritas' requirements for operation
in hazardous area Zone II, corresponding to deck area of a contingency
vessel during oil recovery operations
